Research area

My main research field is materials science. I focus on carbon nanomaterials and their potential application as fillers in different systems such as: carbon-polymer, carbon-metal and carbon-carbon. Furthermore, my interests include synergy effect of two or more fillers and their impact on matrices. In my work, I apply a variety of research techniques. Morphology and structure are determined by Raman and FT-IR Spectroscopy, UV-VIS photospectroscopy and imaging techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM) or optical microscopy. Thermal and thermo-mechanical properties are mainly defined using derivative scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) and thermogravimetry analysis (TGA). I also examine electric properties using a 4-probe method, and thermal conductivity using steady-state methods with an IR microscope.

Hobbies

I like to spend my free time playing strategic board games with my friends or to read popular science books. To relax, I cook vegan, oriental and Italian cuisine dishes.
